Kylian Mbappé faces heavy backlash after Paris outing

Kylian Mbappé is under scrutiny after leaving France injured and being seen out in Paris during his recovery.

Kylian Mbappé is facing renewed criticism from Real Madrid supporters after being seen in Paris while recovering from a knee injury. The France captain left the national-team camp, but his decision to spend a night out with his partner has intensified scrutiny around his conduct and rehabilitation.

Mbappé had travelled with France for the start of Zinedine Zidane’s tenure and scored the decisive goal in Turkey before suffering the injury during the same action. Examinations found an overstretched posterior capsule in his left knee, and he was expected to miss around two weeks. He was later seen at the Boum Boum nightclub alongside former Paris Saint-Germain player Marco Verratti.

The episode comes after a strong start to his season, marked by a high scoring rate and an openly stated ambition while working under José Mourinho. It also follows a contentious Ballon d’Or campaign that reportedly created tension with France team-mate Ousmane Dembélé, despite their long friendship.

Spanish commentator David Sánchez criticised Mbappé for not returning to Real Madrid’s training centre, arguing that the forward should have recovered there and reassured the club’s supporters. With a Clasico approaching, Mbappé’s immediate challenge is to regain fitness and answer the criticism through his performances.
