Lamine Yamal helps Barcelona keep perfect Liga start
Lamine Yamal scored twice as Barcelona beat Levante 4-2 to stay top of Liga with five wins from five.
Barcelona remain in control of La Liga after extending their perfect start to five victories, preserving a three-point advantage over Real Madrid. The result also underlined Lamine Yamal’s growing influence as the reigning champions continued to lead the standings.
Barcelona won 4-2 at Levante, with Yamal scoring twice to take his league total to six. He is now level with Raphinha, Kylian Mbappe and Sergio Camello at the top of the scoring chart. The 19-year-old has registered three Liga doubles in five appearances and is also listed as a candidate for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Xavi Espart opened the scoring with his first professional goal before Yamal made it 2-0 after being set up by Raphinha. He added a penalty early in the second half, giving Barcelona a three-goal cushion. Karim Adeyemi then sealed the victory in stoppage time with a solo run through the Levante defence.
The hosts made the closing stages uncomfortable after taking advantage of mistakes by Espart and Marc Bernal to reduce the deficit to one goal. Levante remain 13th with five points, while Barcelona have 15 and Real Madrid sit second on 12. Despite the late pressure, Barcelona’s flawless record survived.
