LFP Media prepares imminent Ligue 1 TV rights tender
LFP Media is studying bids for Ligue 1 rights and says an auction could be launched in the coming weeks.
LFP Media is preparing to recommend a new process for Ligue 1’s domestic television rights, with a tender expected to be launched in the coming weeks. Director general Olivier Bramly said the organisation is already examining several expressions of interest and is seriously considering opening the bidding. The clubs will soon be advised on the most suitable route for the future of the rights.
The move comes during Ligue 1+’s second season, after the platform took exclusive control of every Ligue 1 match for the 2026-27 campaign. Its early audience figures have been described as encouraging, with more than 700,000 viewers for both the Trophée des champions and the Sunday meeting between Rennes and Paris Saint-Germain. Ligue 1+ ended its first season with slightly more than one million subscribers and is targeting an additional 200,000 this season.
The platform is being positioned as the main vehicle for increasing the value of French football’s domestic rights. Its schedule has been expanded to include friendly matches and Ligue 3 coverage, while clubs are expected to help through immersive content and marketing commitments. Bramly said Ligue 1+ must establish a durable subscriber base and remain central to the league’s rights strategy.
