Colombe du Dja et Lobo receive a grand Yaoundé welcome

Colombe returned to Yaoundé after beating Teungueth 2-0, with a Champions League group-stage place in sight.

Colombe du Dja et Lobo returned to Yaoundé to an official welcome after moving within one match of the CAF Champions League group stage. The Cameroon club’s delegation was received at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport by Jacques Fame Ndongo, the minister of state for higher education and a member of the club’s council of elders. The players and staff then went back to their headquarters to begin preparing for the decisive return leg.

Colombe took a 2-0 advantage from the first-leg meeting with Teungueth FC at Dakar’s Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium. The second leg is scheduled for October 24, 2026, and the Cameroonian side will seek to protect its lead and complete its progress to the group phase. After a short rest, the squad is expected to resume training.

The result adds to an outstanding domestic campaign. Colombe lead the Cameroon Elite One with 55 points from 26 matches, having won 16, drawn seven and lost three. They have scored 47 goals and conceded 13. Their recent sequence includes victories over Fauve Azur Elite, Aigle Royal, PWD, Canon and Unisport Bafang, giving them five wins in their last five league matches. The airport reception marked the achievement, but the focus has now shifted to finishing the continental task.
