Mahamadou Nagida drives Rennes to Ligue 1 summit

Rennes have taken provisional control of Ligue 1 after beating Marseille 1-0, a result that extends their winning streak to three matches. Stade Rennais remain unbeaten after four rounds, having opened the campaign with a draw against Paris Saint-Germain before collecting successive victories at Roazhon Park.

Adrien Thomasson scored the decisive goal in the 52nd minute, finding a way past Marseille goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange. The first half produced no breakthrough, but the game opened up after the interval as both sides increased their attacking effort. Rennes eventually protected their advantage to claim another home win.

Mahamadou Nagida started for Rennes in Franck Haise’s defensive setup and completed the 90 minutes on the left side. The Cameroon international made four successful tackles and completed 39 accurate passes. His performance earned a rating of 7.7 as Rennes maintained their pressure on Marseille.

The result leaves Marseille facing a third consecutive defeat.
