Mercato dates set final transfer deadlines worldwide
Europe’s major leagues close on Tuesday, but clubs elsewhere have longer to complete deals and departures.
Clubs in Europe’s biggest leagues are entering the final hours of the transfer window, while staggered deadlines will keep several international markets open for additional moves. Teams that cannot complete a signing in the main leagues will still have options elsewhere, particularly for outgoing transfers.
France will close its window on Tuesday at 19:59, after opening on 15 June. Germany and Italy follow at 20:00. Spain’s deadline is midnight, while clubs in England have until 23:00 local time. The final hours are traditionally when late and unexpected deals can be completed.
The Netherlands and Major League Soccer remain open until Wednesday. Belgium will accept registrations until Thursday, with Turkey and Portugal extending their windows through Friday. Switzerland will allow transfers until 8 September, and Russia until 10 September.
Outside Europe, Argentina also closes on Wednesday. Saudi Arabia remains available until Sunday, 6 September, while Brazil has the latest deadline on 11 September. Those markets provide further destinations for players who do not secure moves before the principal European windows shut.
