Mohamed Farsi ends long MLS scoring wait for Columbus

Mohamed Farsi has given Columbus Crew an encouraging individual lift despite a result that leaves the club deep in the Eastern Conference. The right-back scored for the first time in more than a year, ending a long wait for a competitive goal and contributing to his side’s response in Nashville.

Columbus lost 3-2 to Nashville on the 22nd matchday. Farsi’s goal came in the 58th minute, reducing the deficit and giving the Crew renewed momentum, but it was not enough to secure a point. His previous official goal had come on June 29, 2025, against Philadelphia Union.

The defeat keeps Columbus in 14th place, second from bottom in the Eastern Conference, with 20 points. Nashville are at the opposite end of the standings on 49 points, so the result underlined the gap facing the Crew as they try to improve their position. Farsi’s finish offers a positive moment for a team whose league campaign remains difficult.

For Farsi, the goal also marks a return to the scoresheet after a disrupted period. He underwent abdominal surgery in September 2025 and was sidelined for several months, an absence that also kept him out of several important Algeria fixtures. His goal in Nashville now gives him a platform to rebuild his form.
