Jude Bellingham scored and assisted as Real Madrid beat Malaga to make it three wins from three in La Liga.
Jude Bellingham has earned Jose Mourinho’s praise after helping Real Madrid maintain their perfect start to the Spanish league season. The England midfielder’s influence has also strengthened his case for a more advanced role in the team, with Mourinho keen to see him contribute further in attack.
Bellingham scored after a solo run and played a part in another goal as Madrid defeated Malaga 4-0 on Sunday. The victory was their third in a row in the competition, leaving them on nine points after three rounds. Madrid’s next league assignment is away to Real Betis in Seville.
Mourinho highlighted Bellingham’s demanding approach towards himself and his teammates, while saying the player should not spend too much of his time operating in a defensive role. The coach also described him as an outstanding midfielder and said Madrid have several players capable of challenging for the Ballon d’Or.
The manager was pleased with the team’s overall display and praised Eduardo Camavinga for his response and strong performance, while also noting Federico Valverde, Bernardo and the rest of the squad. He admitted Madrid lost some organisation during the final 20 minutes after effectively securing the result. The team is working towards an aggressive style based on pressing high, winning the ball in advanced areas and continuing to attack. After Betis, Madrid begin their Champions League campaign against Inter Milan.
