ONCAV to move into Senegal football federation HQ

The ONCAV, which runs Senegal’s Navétanes competitions, is set to relocate its headquarters to the premises of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). The move would place the two organisations under one roof and give their institutional relationship a more direct structure.

ONCAV president Amadou Kane announced the planned relocation after FSF president Abdoulaye Fall proposed it during the national phases final in Kaolack this weekend. Kane said the arrangement should improve coordination and make cooperation between the federation and the organisation more effective.

The ONCAV oversees 8,900 sports and cultural associations across Senegal. Its national phases in Kaolack featured 48 senior teams and 24 cadet teams. The scale of that network makes the proposed link with the federation significant for the organisation’s administration and its relationship with Senegalese football’s governing body.

Super Étoile, representing host city Kaolack, won the senior final against Ocass of Diourbel. Diamono of Kolda claimed the cadet title after defeating Kaolack’s Ufrajel. The relocation announcement came as the latest national phases concluded, giving the ONCAV a planned base within the country’s football federation headquarters.
