Pape Moussa Fall earns Vieira’s trust with Senegal chance

Pape Moussa Fall is emerging as a player Patrick Vieira wants to assess more closely as Senegal prepare to face Comoros in Marseille. The FC Metz forward has made an impression on the new coach and could strengthen his case as an option in attack during the friendly fixture.

Vieira’s Senegal have collected four points from their opening two matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. They drew 1-1 with Mozambique before beating Ethiopia 1-0, with both games played away from home. The performances left room for improvement, making the Comoros match an opportunity for the team to offer a stronger response and for less-used players to gain attention.

Fall was included in Vieira’s first Senegal squad after a strong spell in Belgium and an encouraging start with Metz. His route to the national team began at Ndiambour, continued through Génération Foot and RFC Seraing, and led to Metz this season. He also returned successfully after a serious knee setback, scoring on his comeback for Seraing against Club Brugge. His recent progress has now brought him into Senegal’s plans, where Vieira sees him as a possible backup at centre-forward. The Comoros game gives Fall a clearer stage to show that he can contribute despite playing in France’s second tier.
