RC Lens add Vincent Carlier to Cahuzac’s staff
Vincent Carlier moves from Lens’ reserve side to become Yannick Cahuzac’s assistant with the first team.
RC Lens have promoted Vincent Carlier to Yannick Cahuzac’s first-team coaching staff, completing a change made during the international break. Carlier leaves his role with the reserve team to take up an official position as assistant coach.
The 46-year-old has been with Lens since 2022 and was already working closely with the professional squad on a daily basis. His familiarity with the club helped lead to the move, which gives Cahuzac another member of the existing structure to work with. Carlier previously played as a defender for Troyes, Angers and Nîmes, making 208 professional appearances before moving into coaching.
His career in development football included spells managing youth teams at Nîmes and ESTAC. He had also spent four seasons helping develop players within Lens’ academy setup before taking this step into the senior staff.
The change also reshapes the club’s Groupe Élite. Walid Mesloub, who had served as Carlier’s assistant and is the father of Lens player Mezian Mesloub, will lead the group until the end of the season. Anthony Rogie will assist him. Rogie is also a product of the Lens academy.
