Renato Sanches receives Corinthians offer after Europe exit

Renato Sanches is now considering a move to Brazil after Corinthians stepped up their pursuit of the Portugal international. The São Paulo club have submitted a second concrete offer for the midfielder, whose search for a new team has extended into late September.

Sanches, 29, was released by Paris Saint-Germain this summer following a loan spell at Panathinaikos, where he made 24 appearances. He had hoped to remain in Europe, but advanced talks with Getafe in Spain ultimately failed to produce an agreement.

The midfielder had also turned down financially attractive proposals from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer during the summer because he wanted to continue in a competitive European project. With the Getafe negotiations over, he has opened himself to opportunities in South America.

Corinthians have taken the lead among the Brazilian clubs interested in signing him and are seeking a high-profile addition to their squad. Sanches, who helped Portugal win Euro 2016, is discussing options with several teams, but the Corinthians proposal currently represents the clearest route to continuing his career outside Europe. No agreement has been reached, and the offer remains part of negotiations over his next club.
