Senegal federation unveils October 2026 fixture list

The Senegalese Football Federation has set out a demanding October 2026 schedule for five national teams, with the fixtures designed to prepare the squads for future international competitions. The programme will also affect the domestic calendar, with the professional championship’s planned 3 October launch delayed by two weeks.

Senegal’s under-17 team will play France twice in Paris, on 2 and 4 October. The under-20 side will meet the Democratic Republic of Congo on 1 and 4 October at the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar. Senegal’s under-23 team will face Gambia at the same venue on 3 and 5 October.

The beach soccer national team will take on Nigeria in Abuja on 3 and 5 October. The senior side, coached by Patrick Vieira, has one fixture confirmed: a meeting with Comoros in Marseille on 4 October. The schedule follows Senegal’s victory over Ethiopia.

The federation considers the matches an opportunity for the technical staffs to measure the players’ level, adjust their tactical approach and build greater cohesion. Each age-group side and the beach soccer team will have two tests, while Vieira’s senior squad will use the Comoros game as its October preparation match. The range of opponents gives the national teams exposure to different styles ahead of their next international commitments.
