Senegal U17 reached the UFOA-A semi-finals with a second straight victory, defeating Sierra Leone 5-0 in Thiès.
Senegal have secured a place in the semi-finals of the UFOA-A U17 tournament after maintaining their perfect start with a second consecutive victory. The Lionceaux followed their opening 4-0 win over Mauritania by defeating Sierra Leone 5-0 at Stade Lat Dior in Thiès.
Souleymane Commissaire Faye opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Cheikh Oumar Sy doubled the advantage in the 31st. The Castors FC player struck again from the penalty spot three minutes later, giving Senegal a 3-0 lead at half-time and adding to the two goals he scored in the tournament opener.
Amadou Assane Seck, brought into the starting line-up in place of Kader Ndour, added a fourth five minutes after the restart. He finished from a pass by Amsatou Diouf after the Sierra Leone goalkeeper had come off his line. Senegal continued to create opportunities, with Amadou Bangoura going close in the 69th minute before later supplying the pass for Serigne Aliou Diop to complete the scoring in the 81st.
The result gives Senegal six points from two matches, with 9-0 scored and none conceded across those games. Their back-to-back wins have confirmed their progress to the last four and established them as the early force in their tournament campaign.
