SUCAF-CI 2A win 2026 Tafiré Fraternity Tournament

SUCAF-CI 2A have secured the Tiémoko Meyliet Koné trophy and the title at Tafiré’s Fraternity Tournament, giving the Badikaha-based side the top honour in the competition’s sixth edition. The tournament was held under the themes of peace, fraternity and social cohesion.

The team from the African Sugar Company in Côte d’Ivoire defeated FC K-Nada Senior of Tafiré 1-0 in the final on Saturday, 12 September 2026. The decisive match was played at Tafiré’s municipal stadium.

The competition brought together 31 teams. Nineteen came from the sub-prefecture and commune, while six teams represented each of the neighbouring localities of Niédiékaha and Badikaha. The event used football to promote fair play, solidarity and closer ties between young people and communities in Tafiré, the surrounding areas and the wider Hambol region.

The trophy is named after Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, Côte d’Ivoire’s vice-president and a native of Tafiré. The final was attended by elected officials, administrative representatives, community leaders and residents, with parliamentarians from the Poro and Tchologo regions also present. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Hambol regional council president Kalil Ibrahim Konaté and Niakara prefect Benoît Brou Kouadio, who was represented by the prefecture’s secretary-general.
