Teungueth FC hold advantage but stay level at halftime

Teungueth FC remain in control of their CAF Champions League first-round tie, but the Senegalese side have not extended their advantage before the second half. They lead Canchungo 1-0 on aggregate after winning the first leg, leaving the visitors needing a turnaround to progress.

The hosts created the clearer openings at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor. Ibou Aidara began the move for the first major chance in the 12th minute, but the Canchungo goalkeeper stopped his shot before Ben Habib sent the follow-up narrowly wide. Ben Habib was denied again when his attempt from the edge of the area was held.

Raphaël Ndong later failed to hit the target after being released into space by Aidara. Canchungo’s task became harder in the 40th minute when Nhasse, the last defender, was dismissed for bringing down Aidara outside the box. The resulting free-kick produced no goal.

Despite playing with ten men, Canchungo threatened on the break. Teungueth goalkeeper Dieng made a key intervention to keep out one counterattack and then dealt with a long-range effort. The stalemate extends Teungueth’s recent unbeaten run to five matches: three wins and two draws, with the side also having conceded no goal in those games. They still need a second-half breakthrough to remove the tie’s remaining uncertainty.
