Youri Delhommel extends Pau contract through 2029
The 30-year-old French hooker has signed on with the Top 14 club after making 115 appearances since 2021.
Section Paloise have secured the continued presence of Youri Delhommel, with the experienced hooker signing a new contract that runs through 2029. The agreement extends his stay beyond his previous deal, which was due to expire at the end of June. His retention gives Pau further stability as the club works to establish itself among the Top 14’s leading sides.
Delhommel, 30, joined Pau in the summer of 2021 after leaving Montpellier. He has since played 115 matches for the Béarn club. His contribution in attack has also grown: with seven tries in the 2025-26 season, he is currently Pau’s most prolific forward.
Manager Sébastien Piqueronies considers Delhommel central to the balance of the squad, pointing to his reliability, consistency and commitment. The coach also views him as an example of the combative leadership needed for Pau’s ambition of securing a lasting place in the league’s top six.
Delhommel has described Pau as an important club in his career and said he has developed considerably since arriving in 2021. He also credited the support around the Hameau and across the Béarn region with driving the team to keep improving. The extension keeps a key figure in Pau’s pack and leadership group for three more seasons.
