Zinédine Zidane plans France changes for Belgium

Zinédine Zidane is preparing to use France’s meeting with Belgium to assess more options in his squad. The match will be another step in the former Real Madrid coach’s first international break in charge, with further opportunities expected during the remaining fixtures.

France began Zidane’s tenure with a 1-0 victory over Turkey earlier this week. The result gives the new staff an initial platform as they examine players and shape their plans across the three matches still scheduled during the break.

Andy Diouf could start at left-back against Belgium, while Lucas Da Cunha is considered a possible option in midfield. Even if neither player is selected from the opening whistle, both are expected to feature. Estéban Lepaul is also in line to start at least one match before the international period ends, although it remains unclear whether that chance will come against Belgium, Italy or in the return fixture with Belgium.

Eduardo Camavinga is expected to receive a starting opportunity after a difficult spell at Real Madrid. The midfield is emerging as the main area for Zidane to assess, while Désiré Doué is currently the leading candidate to replace Kylian Mbappé.
