Abakar Sylla transferred from Strasbourg to Gaziantep

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast centre-back leaves RC Strasbourg Alsace for Gaziantep SK.

Abakar Sylla has left RC Strasbourg Alsace after completing a transfer to Gaziantep SK. The move takes the 23-year-old centre-back into a new chapter after his spell with the French club.

Sylla is an Ivory Coast international by nationality and has played as a central defender throughout his senior career. Strasbourg signed him from Club Brugge in the 2023/24 season for €20 million, making that move the largest fee recorded in his transfer history.

His career also includes a move from Club NXT to Club Brugge in 2022/23. The 2025/26 record lists transfers between Strasbourg and FC Nantes in both directions, with Nantes shown as the club associated with his current market valuation of €2.5 million. The latest move now places Gaziantep SK as his new club.

The available player record lists a knock and a groin injury among Sylla’s injury entries. No transfer fee for the move to Gaziantep has been provided. Strasbourg therefore lose a 23-year-old Ivorian centre-back who arrived after developing within the Club Brugge system, while Gaziantep add a defender with experience in Belgian and French football.
