ASVEL sign Mathis Dossou-Yovo after Nanterre season
ASVEL have recruited Mathis Dossou-Yovo after his standout campaign with Nanterre in the Betclic Elite.
ASVEL have added Mathis Dossou-Yovo to an increasingly reinforced frontcourt, giving the Villeurbanne club another major interior option for the next Betclic Elite campaign. The signing follows the departure of Mbaye Ndiaye, who joined Greek side Olympiakos, and continues ASVEL’s busy recruitment period.
The 25-year-old centre joins after one season with Nanterre, where he became the team’s leading scorer in 2025-26. Dossou-Yovo averaged 17.8 points per game and converted 58.9 percent of his field-goal attempts. His displays earned him a place in the best five of the French top flight.
ASVEL had already strengthened the same area with the arrivals of Yves Pons, Nate Sestina and Joel Bolomboy. Dossou-Yovo’s addition further increases the club’s options around the basket and brings in a player coming off his most productive Betclic Elite season.
His development began at Saint-Quentin, where he was named Pro B MVP in 2023. He remained with the Aisne club for another season before moving to Germany. A subsequent spell with Paris Basketball brought a French championship title in 2025, while he has also earned one cap for France. After only one campaign in Nanterre, Dossou-Yovo now returns to the French top level with ASVEL.
