Egyptian referees to oversee Jordan Super Cup final
Jordan has requested an Egyptian officiating team for Friday’s Super Cup final at Amman International Stadium.
The Jordanian Football Association has turned to Egypt for the officiating team that will take charge of Friday’s Jordanian Super Cup final. The appointment places Egyptian referees at the centre of the tournament’s deciding match, which will be played at Amman International Stadium.
The request covers a referee and assistant referees from Egypt. The Egyptian Football Association confirmed on Sunday that the request had been received, but the names of the officials selected for the final have not yet been announced. They are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
The choice follows the involvement of Mohamed Maarouf and Ahmed Hossam Taha in the competition’s semi-final stage. Maarouf refereed both semi-final matches, giving him a direct connection to the tournament’s knockout rounds. Taha, meanwhile, worked as part of the video assistant referee teams during the same stage.
The final appointment will therefore extend Egypt’s refereeing presence into the decisive match, although it remains unclear whether either Maarouf or Taha will be included in the confirmed team. The Jordanian federation’s request is specifically for a referee and assistants, while Taha’s previous role in the tournament was with the VAR crews. The Egyptian federation will provide the final composition before Friday’s fixture.
