ES Metlaoui add Senegal duo Mbodji and Dieng

ES Metlaoui have agreed deals for Senegalese players Mapathé Mbodji and Massar Dieng from Ajel de Rufisque.

ES Metlaoui have agreed to sign Senegalese players Mapathé Mbodji and Massar Dieng from Ajel de Rufisque, strengthening their squad with two additions from Senegal’s domestic championship. The deals also increase the club’s Senegalese contingent to five players.

Mbodji, a midfielder, is set to join on a one-season contract. Dieng will commit for two years. The pair will continue their careers in Tunisia after their time with Ajel de Rufisque, where both developed before securing the move to the Tunisian top flight.

Their arrival adds to a group that already includes Ousmane Yeri Diabaté, another former Ajel player who joined Metlaoui this summer, along with Babacar Diarra and Moussa Senghor. The recruitment gives the club five Senegalese players in its current squad, with Mbodji and Dieng becoming the latest arrivals.

Metlaoui are listed 15th in the 2026 Tunisian Ligue 1 standings, with zero points from zero matches and a 0-0 goal record in the supplied competition data. Their recent form shows two wins, one draw and two defeats. They beat US Monastirienne 1-0 away and Étoile du Sahel 2-0 at home, drew 0-0 with JS Kairouanaise, and lost 3-1 to ES Tunis and 1-0 at ES Zarzis. Their next listed match is away against Jeunesse Sportive Omrane on September 13, 2026.
