Guéla Doué priced at €40m as Strasbourg weigh exit

Strasbourg have set a €40 million valuation for Guéla Doué and remain prepared to examine a suitable offer before the transfer window closes. The right-back, 23, has three years left on his contract, but the club is still open to his departure as it works to improve its finances.

The Alsatian side have already brought in almost €170m from player sales, including Diego Moreira for €50m excluding bonuses, Valentin Barco for €40m, Julio Enciso for €30.5m and Abdoul Ouattara for €20m. With one week remaining in the market, Doué is another possible source of income.

Inter Milan had considered Doué after Denzel Dumfries moved to Real Madrid, although the Italian club instead turned to Djed Spence. Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring the defender, but a deal is viewed as difficult while Strasbourg maintain their €40m demand.

The transfer decision comes as Strasbourg sit 18th in Ligue 1 after one match, without a point and with a 0-4 goal record. Their wider recent sequence includes defeats by Blackburn and Sporting CP, wins against Monaco and Stade Brestois 29, and a draw at Angers. Strasbourg next face Lens on August 29, with Doué’s status still central to the club’s late-window planning.
