Joakim Noah's wife is model Lais Ribeiro, a former Angel

Joakim Noah’s wife is Lais Ribeiro, the Brazilian model whose career took her from international fashion runways to Victoria’s Secret. The couple married in July 2022 in Trancoso, a coastal village in Bahia, Brazil, four years after beginning their relationship.

The ceremony took place outdoors on the beach, with family and friends present. Among them was Yannick Noah, Joakim’s father, as well as guests from the NBA and the fashion world. Yannick Noah described the wedding as the most beautiful he had seen. Joakim Noah, born in New York, previously played as a centre for the Chicago Bulls.

Noah and Ribeiro first met in 2018, with travel, family and social causes among the interests they shared. He proposed in September 2019 during Burning Man, the festival held in Nevada, choosing the desert setting for the engagement.

Ribeiro joined the Victoria’s Secret model roster in 2010 and became one of the brand’s official Angels in 2015. In 2017, she was selected to wear the Fantasy Bra, a piece decorated with diamonds and sapphires and valued at $2 million. She has also used her public profile to support autism awareness, a cause with personal importance because her son has autism.
