Kylian Mbappé returns to Madrid during knee recovery

Kylian Mbappé has returned to Madrid to continue his knee rehabilitation, with Real Madrid yet to set a comeback date.

Kylian Mbappé is back in Madrid as he continues his recovery from a left-knee injury, bringing the next phase of his rehabilitation closer to Real Madrid’s medical staff. His return to the Spanish capital does not mean he is ready to train with the squad, since the club has not yet announced when he will resume collective work.

The forward was injured while making his starting debut in France’s first match under Zinedine Zidane. Mbappé had scored the goal that gave the French side victory over Turkey before being forced off with a problem caused by hyperextension of his left knee. He subsequently began his recovery away from football activities and spent part of that period in Paris.

Mbappé left the French capital on Monday and was seen arriving in Spain alongside actress Ester Expósito. His return is expected to allow the Real Madrid medical team to supervise the continuation of his rehabilitation programme and monitor how the injury develops.

The first information surrounding the injury has been reassuring about its seriousness, but Real Madrid is not ready to attach a precise schedule to Mbappé’s return. The club is taking care before allowing him back into training, with the aim of restoring the attacker fully and avoiding a recurrence. For now, his availability remains dependent on the progress of that recovery rather than a confirmed date.
