Lorient announce Isak Jensen loan from AZ Alkmaar
Lorient have brought in Danish winger Isak Jensen from AZ Alkmaar on a season-long loan with a purchase option.
Lorient have added Danish winger Isak Jensen to their attacking options, with the 22-year-old joining from AZ Alkmaar on a season-long loan that includes a purchase option. The move brings a technical and energetic left-sided player, capable of driving forward, into a squad that has begun the 2026 Ligue 1 campaign with one match played.
Lorient are 10th in Ligue 1 2026, with one point from their opening match: a draw, and no goals scored or conceded. Their recent form lists wins against Guingamp (2-0), Nantes (1-0), Concarneau (2-1) and Metz (4-0), alongside a 2-0 defeat to Le Havre AC. The next league fixture is at home to Estac Troyes on August 29, 2026.
Jensen has represented Denmark at youth international level 10 times and scored once. He developed in Denmark before spells with Saint-Louis in the United States and Viborg, then moved to AZ Alkmaar. His record in the Netherlands stands at 55 appearances, seven goals and eight assists. The transfer takes him into French football and makes him only the second Danish player to represent Lorient, following Christian Andersen in the 1976-77 season.
