Milan Robin's Le Mans future hinges on contract talks

Milan Robin's future at Le Mans is uncertain as the newly promoted club weighs a possible summer departure against a contract extension. The 26-year-old midfielder is tied to the club for one more year, but Le Mans does not want to risk losing him without compensation when that deal expires. Robin's preference remains to stay in the Sarthe, although the club's position has changed since its ownership changed in June.

Le Mans had previously indicated that Robin was part of its plans for the move to Ligue 1. It has since made his continued presence conditional on a new agreement, while also seeking to reduce the number of midfielders in the squad. Eight players are competing for three midfield positions, with Edwin Quarshie and Martin Rossignol encouraged to find new clubs. Robin has attracted interest from Charlton and QPR in the Championship, as well as Racing Santander and Malaga in Spain.

Robin played a major role in Le Mans' promotion campaign, contributing one goal and three assists in 28 appearances. His situation now develops as Le Mans sits seventh in Ligue 1 with one point from its opening match, a 2-2 record of goals. The team has won three of its last five listed matches, alongside one draw and one defeat, and next visits Rennes on August 30.
