Olivier Létang warns LOSC after fortunate Toulouse win

The Lille president says the team must raise its commitment after a second win in three Ligue 1 matches.

Olivier Létang has warned Lille that its performance at Toulouse cannot be repeated, despite the result keeping the club at the top of the Ligue 1 table. The president said the team’s attitude and level of commitment had raised serious concerns after a display he viewed as a warning sign.

LOSC secured a 1-0 victory in Toulouse, its second win in three league matches. However, the visitors spent much of the game under pressure and needed several saves from Berke Özer to protect their lead. The result moved Lille to the summit, but the manner of the win left both the club president and head coach Davide Ancelotti dissatisfied.

Ancelotti accepted responsibility alongside his players and said Lille had performed poorly while Toulouse produced a strong match. He stressed that the team had benefited from luck and would need to show a different level with European competition approaching. For the Italian coach, taking all three points mattered, but the performance could not be overlooked.

Létang delivered a stronger assessment, insisting that Lille cannot compete when it lacks the required intensity and commitment. The president said the team had been fortunate to leave with three points and demanded a higher standard from the players. Lille’s position remains strong, but its early form now carries a clear warning from within the club.
