Omar Marmoush joins Tottenham on loan from Man City

Omar Marmoush has moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Manchester City on loan, giving Roberto De Zerbi another attacking option after the London club began its Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat at Brentford. Tottenham have the possibility of making the transfer permanent next year, with reported terms including a £50 million commitment and up to £10 million in add-ons.

The Egypt international joins a Tottenham project that the club believes can benefit from his pace, attacking intelligence and finishing. De Zerbi described Marmoush as an ambitious forward with a strong desire to improve, while sporting director Johan Lange said his arrival reflected the club’s intentions for the coming seasons. Marmoush said he was eager to begin and had been impressed by the coach’s plans.

Marmoush became a senior player with Wadi Degla in 2016 before moving to Wolfsburg. Loan spells at St Pauli and Stuttgart preceded his breakthrough at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 37 goals and supplied 20 assists in 67 appearances. Manchester City signed him in January 2025, and he scored a hat-trick against Newcastle United in his first Premier League season. He finished that campaign with eight goals in 25 matches and has 16 goals in 62 games for City overall.

For Egypt, Marmoush has 55 caps and 11 goals. He scored on his international debut in 2021, helped Egypt reach that year’s Africa Cup of Nations final and has represented the country at three editions of the tournament. He also played at his first World Cup this summer.
