Oslo FA signal intent as ASFA mark Ligue 2 return

Oslo FA opened with a high-scoring win while ASFA celebrated its return to Senegal’s Ligue 2 with three points.

Oslo Football Académie have made an immediate statement of intent in Senegal’s Ligue 2, while ASFA began their return to the second tier with a victory. Both clubs therefore start the campaign with three points and join the early group of winners after the opening round.

Oslo produced the weekend’s most prolific victory, overcoming AS Cambérène 4-2. Bara Guèye scored twice as the academy side turned their first match into a six-goal contest and delivered an early indication of their ambitions. ASFA were more measured away from home, defeating AS Kaffrine 1-0 to mark their comeback to Ligue 2 with the narrowest winning margin.

The opening round produced 18 goals across eight matches, an average of 2.25 per game. Oslo’s result gives them the strongest attacking start among the two clubs, while ASFA’s success shows they can collect points even in a tighter contest. Their early form places both teams among the sides that have launched the season positively, although the standings remain shaped by only one fixture.

Other opening-day winners included Guelwaars, Niary Tally, Jamono, Amitié FC, Teranga SC and AS Bambey. Oslo and ASFA, however, supplied two of the round’s clearest storylines: one through attacking ambition, the other through a successful return.
