Ousmane Sow scores on Jagiellonia league debut
Ousmane Sow scored on his Polish league debut as Jagiellonia Białystok defeated Raków 5-2 in the sixth round.
Ousmane Sow has begun his Polish league career with a goal for Jagiellonia Białystok, giving the Senegalese winger an early domestic milestone with his new club. The performance strengthens a promising start that had already included his first appearances in European competition.
Jagiellonia won 5-2 at Raków in the sixth round of the championship. Sow entered the match in the 69th minute, taking the place of Kajetan Szmyt, and found the net 10 minutes later. His goal was Jagiellonia’s fourth of the game and helped complete a convincing away victory. The result also added to the club’s positive run after its progress in the Europa League play-offs.
Sow had featured in both legs against Iberia before making his league breakthrough. He came on during the second half of the first match, a 4-0 Jagiellonia victory, and was introduced at half-time in the return, which the Polish side won 2-1. The two results carried Białystok into the Europa League league phase. Sow’s goal against Raków now gives him a domestic contribution as he continues adapting after joining Jagiellonia this summer from Brøndby IF on loan with an option to buy.
