Paris FC and Lyon settle for draw, miss top spot

Paris FC and Lyon remain two points behind Monaco and Rennes after a goalless draw at Jean-Bouin.

Paris FC and Lyon both missed the chance to move into Ligue 1’s leading pair after sharing the points at Jean-Bouin. The result leaves them behind Monaco and Rennes, who remain at the summit, with both sides still unbeaten after four rounds.

The match ended 0-0, keeping the clubs two points behind the leaders. Paris FC had 54% possession after an hour and looked the more purposeful side, while Lyon failed to register a shot on target during the opening half. Neither team could turn its control into a decisive finish.

Paris FC created pressure through crosses and set pieces, with Lyon goalkeeper Greif dealing with several deliveries. Koleosho also came close after breaking into the area, but Niakhaté intervened before the effort could seriously trouble the goal. Lyon’s best moments came from attempts to release Nuamah and Openda, though Trapp handled the danger comfortably.

The draw extends the early race at the top without changing the gap between the two clubs and the leading pair. Paris FC will next host Strasbourg, while Lyon face Rennes at home, giving both teams an immediate opportunity to close ground on the leaders.
