Paris Saint-Germain await 2026-27 Champions League draw

PSG, Lille and Lens will learn their league-phase opponents after Lyon’s elimination in the play-offs.

Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and Lens will discover their opponents in the 2026-27 Champions League league phase when the draw takes place in Monaco on Thursday evening. The French trio will be part of the competition after Lyon’s play-off exit against Fenerbahçe, following the Turkish side’s qualification alongside AEK Athens, Viking Stavanger and Slovan Bratislava.

PSG, the reigning European and French champions, are in Pot 1 with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Inter Milan. Lille’s recent European performances place them in Pot 3, while Lens are in Pot 4. Lyon had reached the play-offs by eliminating Sparta Prague before losing 1-2 in the return leg against Fenerbahçe, after a 1-1 first-leg draw.

Each club will face eight opponents in the league phase, with four matches at home and four away, including two opponents from every pot. The opening round is scheduled for September 8-10, and the final league-phase round will be played on January 27, when all 18 matches are set to take place simultaneously. French clubs cannot meet one another before the knockout stage, while an automated system will assign opponents after each team is drawn. Pot 2 includes Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting CP, Aston Villa, Porto and Manchester United, while Pot 3 also contains Napoli, RB Leipzig and Villarreal.
