Pierre Ménès confirms his continued TV exclusion

Pierre Ménès has confirmed that he remains outside France’s mainstream audiovisual industry, five years after disappearing from television. The former Canal Football Club figure says he has accepted that no broadcaster currently wants him, although he would consider returning if an attractive offer arrived.

Ménès now communicates through his own YouTube channel, where he answers followers’ weekly questions on football, tennis and other topics. The channel has grown to 91,300 subscribers, helped significantly by the 2026 World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

His exclusion followed the broadcast of Marie Portolano and Guillaume Priou’s documentary, Je ne suis pas une salope, je suis journaliste. Ménès was directly implicated by his former colleague, with whom he remains involved in legal disputes, and subsequently left Canal+’s on-screen football coverage. He says he has no current contact with Canal+ or anyone else in mainstream broadcasting.

For now, the YouTube platform has become his main media outlet. Ménès has said he is content with that situation, while keeping open the possibility of a return to wider television exposure if a suitable proposal is made.
