RC Lens supporters face travel limits for Strasbourg game
A prefectural order restricts Lens supporters’ movement in Strasbourg on 29 August, with an escorted bus exception.
RC Lens supporters will face restrictions around the club’s second-round fixture at Strasbourg’s Stade de la Meinau on Saturday 29 August 2026. The prefectural order limits where people identifying as Lens supporters, or behaving as such, may travel or park in public areas around the match.
The measures apply from noon until midnight on matchday. Supporters travelling by private car must go directly to the Meinau. The only stated exception covers buses and minibuses organised by RC Lens and escorted by France’s internal security forces.
Those coaches will be taken under police supervision from the Schwindratzheim toll plaza on the A4. They must arrive there no later than 2.30pm on 29 August. The order also requires the visiting coaches to have enough drivers to respect mandatory rest periods, while the vehicles must leave the stadium as soon as the match ends.
The restrictions cover the roads and areas listed in the order, as well as the surroundings of the Meinau. Their implementation has been assigned to senior Bas-Rhin prefecture, police and gendarmerie officials, along with Strasbourg’s mayor. The order is to be published in the prefecture’s official administrative record and sent to the Strasbourg public prosecutor and both clubs.
