Riyad Mahrez remains without offers from Al-Wahda, Corum
Riyad Mahrez is still a free agent after leaving Al-Ahli, with no proposals from Al-Wahda or Corum FK so far.
Riyad Mahrez’s next move remains unresolved, with two destinations recently linked to him yet to make a formal proposal. The former Algeria captain is still a free agent following his amicable departure from Al-Ahli, while Al-Wahda and Turkish club Corum FK have not submitted offers for the 35-year-old. Mahrez is therefore continuing to assess the options available to him.
Interest in both clubs had intensified in recent days. Corum’s profile was strengthened by its promotion to the Turkish Super Lig, while Al-Wahda was presented as the more advanced possibility. Neither track has produced a concrete offer, however, and the summer transfer window has not yet closed. Mahrez remains free to consider other destinations.
His current situation comes as his 2018 transfer from Leicester City to Manchester City drops out of Africa’s 10 most expensive deals. That move, valued at €67.8 million, now places him 11th, just behind Achraf Hakimi. The ranking changed after Ayyoub Bouaddi joined Manchester City for €95 million and Carlos Baleba moved to Manchester United for about €82 million, including bonuses. Mahrez had occupied a top-10 position for several years.
