Senegal learns route to seven 2026 Beach Soccer finalists

Senegal now knows how the field for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations will be completed. The hosts have already secured their place at the finals in Dakar, leaving seven qualification spots to be decided through the continental preliminary competition. Morocco, Nigeria, Mozambique and Mauritania are among the nations in contention.

The qualifying route includes an opening stage for four teams. Libya will meet Kenya, while Mauritius will face Angola, with both ties scheduled for September. The winners will advance to the next round and continue the race for a place in Dakar.

In the second round, the Libya-Kenya winner will play Morocco, and the Mauritius-Angola winner will face Egypt. Five other second-round ties were also set by the draw, although their pairings were not detailed. All seven second-round contests will be played over two legs, with first matches taking place from 9 to 11 October and return fixtures from 16 to 18 October.

The seven aggregate winners will join Senegal for an eight-team finals tournament. Senegal, the reigning African champion as well as the host, will seek to retain the title on home ground in Dakar.
