Senegal’s national beach soccer team has moved into seventh place in the latest Beach Soccer Worldwide ranking and remains the highest-ranked team in Africa. The Lions have 1,365.5 points in the international table, a position that reflects their recent presence among the leading teams in the sport. Senegal’s ranking also confirms its status as the continent’s current reference point ahead of the next Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will host in November 2026.

The ranking is produced by Beach Soccer Worldwide in cooperation with FIFA and is updated after each edition of the Beach Soccer World Cup. Senegal’s place is listed among a leading group that includes Brazil, Portugal, Russia, Italy, Belarus, Spain and Iran. The update gives the African champions a prominent position in the global order, while also placing them above the other African teams included in the continental standings.

Senegal’s main distinction in Africa is reinforced by its record in the continental competition. The Lions are the reigning African champions and have won the beach soccer Africa Cup of Nations eight times, including five consecutive titles. That record gives Senegal the highest number of victories in the competition and provides the background to its first place in the latest African ranking.

The continental table places Morocco behind Senegal, followed by Mauritania and Egypt. Those four teams form the leading group in the African ranking mentioned in the update.
