Stade Rennais and OM line-ups emerge before Ligue 1 tie

Stade Rennais have the chance to consolidate their strong start to the Ligue 1 season when they host Marseille at Roazhon Park on Friday. Rennes are fifth after three matches and remain unbeaten, while OM arrive in 10th place needing to halt a run of two consecutive defeats. The meeting also brings Bruno Genesio back to the club he coached from 2021 to 2023.

Marseille are expected to use a 4-2-3-1. Jeffrey de Lange should start in goal behind Emerson, Nayef Aguerd, CJ Egan-Riley and captain Timothy Weah. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Himad Abdelli are set to form the midfield base, with Igor Paixão, Angel Gomes and Amine Harit supporting Amine Gouiri. The Algeria international has scored four times in three games and will face his former club.

Franck Haise is expected to select Rennes in a 4-1-4-1, with Brice Samba starting against his former team. The projected defence includes Nagida, Leo Rouault, Jérémy Cresswell and Przemyslaw Frankowski, while Valentin Rongier is set to anchor the midfield. The attacking line should feature Taha Al-Tamari, Adrien Thomasson, Mahamadou Camara and Ludovic Blas behind Esteban Lepaul. Rennes will be without Geoffrey Kondogbia and Tochukwu Nnadi, while Lepaul enters the game with three goals in three matches.
