Toranou to host TBO football final under fraternity theme

Toranou will host the TBO football final on 30 August, bringing Bafing communities together around sport and fraternity.

Toranou is set to become a meeting point for communities across the Bafing when it hosts the final of the TBO football tournament on Sunday. The event is intended to use football to strengthen friendship, unity and social ties among local residents, with fraternity at the centre of the occasion.

The final will take place at the Toranou municipal stadium from 2pm on 30 August 2026. The competition is played for the Téné Birahima Ouattara Cup, named after Côte d’Ivoire’s vice-prime minister and defence minister. Its message is summed up by the organisers’ call to build friendship through sport.

The Mutuelle de développement économique et social de Toranou is organising the tournament with sponsorship from the Société des frères Diomandé. Traoré Bamoudien is the patron, while Youssouf Fadiga is the sponsor. Mamadou Sanogo, Abou Bamba and Moussa Sanogo are listed among the event’s co-patrons.

The organisers expect people from Toranou, nearby communities and across the Touba department to attend. Beyond the football itself, the final is being presented as a youth-focused gathering that supports fraternity, stronger community links and local development efforts in the region.
