Aigles de la Médina reach CAF Women’s Champions League semis

Aïssatou Fall’s goal sent Senegal’s Aigles de la Médina into the UFOA-A semi-finals after a 1-0 win.

The Aigles de la Médina have secured a place in the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying tournament for the UFOA-A zone, keeping Senegal’s champions in contention for continental qualification. Their progress came after recovering from a losing start in Group A.

The Senegalese side defeated Liberia’s Determine Girls 1-0 on Monday. Aïssatou Fall scored the only goal of the match, giving the Aigles the victory they needed after opening the competition with a 1-0 defeat by Mali’s USFAS Bamako.

Six clubs are competing in the zonal tournament, divided into two groups of three. The Aigles share Group A with USFAS and Determine Girls, while Group B contains Gambia’s Berewuleng FC, Guinea’s AS Bolonta and Sierra Leone’s Mogbwemo Queens. The top two teams in each group advance to the semi-finals, with the group winners facing the runners-up from the other section.

The competition runs until September 6, and the zone champion will claim the only qualifying place for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League finals. The Aigles are now two victories away from winning the UFOA-A tournament and reaching that continental stage.
