Antoine Griezmann extends scoring run with Orlando

Antoine Griezmann’s continued scoring form is helping Orlando strengthen its position in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Florida club has now gone four matches without defeat and sits sixth, inside the group earning direct postseason qualification. The margin remains narrow, with Toronto only two points behind in 10th, the first position outside the playoff places.

Griezmann scored twice in Orlando’s 3-2 victory at Atlanta United. He restored parity before the half-hour mark, then struck again during the final quarter of the match to give Orlando a two-goal advantage. Ivan Angulo had earlier put Orlando ahead after the interval, while Atlanta reduced the deficit in stoppage time through a Florida own goal.

The result leaves Orlando with 31 points from 24 matches, including nine wins and four draws. Ten regular-season games remain, giving the team an opportunity to consolidate its playoff position but little room to relax with Toronto close behind.

Orlando will host Toronto this weekend in a match with a direct bearing on the Eastern Conference standings. The club will then travel to Columbus next Wednesday for its United States Cup semi-final, with Griezmann arriving at that fixture after scoring in four consecutive matches.
