Dijon and Saint-Etienne meet in Ligue 2 showdown

Saint-Etienne will seek to preserve their position at the top of Ligue 2 when they travel to face Dijon on Monday evening. The meeting gives the leaders a chance to extend their strong start, while Dijon must respond after a difficult opening to life back in the second tier. The game is the closing fixture of the fourth round at Gaston-Gérard.

The clubs were Ligue 1 opponents only a few seasons ago, but they now meet in a second-tier contest with contrasting early-season momentum. Dijon returned to Ligue 2 after winning the National 1 championship, a competition now called Ligue 3. Saint-Etienne, meanwhile, have been the standout team at the start of the campaign and arrive in Burgundy as the clear favourites. Jakob Breum, one of the club’s summer arrivals, will miss the match.

Dijon are set to name Delecroix in goal, with Boulegcha, Lacroix, Bernard and Aka in defence. Bellon, Marié, Lembezat and Barreto are listed in midfield, while Barka and Ntamack lead the attack. Saint-Etienne’s expected team features Larsonneur behind Pedro, Le Cardinal, Naïr and Bernauer. Boakye, Csongvai, Svetlin and Old are positioned in midfield, with Cardona and Ballo selected up front.

The match begins at 20:45 on Monday. It will be televised on beIN SPORTS 1, with online viewing available through the beIN Connect streaming service.
