Khaldoon Al Mubarak reassures Man City fans over case

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has told supporters that the club’s confidence in its defence against alleged Premier League rules breaches remains unchanged. He said the proceedings are still continuing and that the club remains committed to proving its position.

Al Mubarak said he could not provide further details because the legal process is subject to strict confidentiality. His message was reviewed several times by the club’s legal advisers before publication. He also directed fans to Manchester City’s statement of 25 September 2026 and to his first message on the case from February 2023, saying the club’s position had not shifted despite the latest public discussion.

Manchester City said the league process has not yet reached its conclusion, with significant parts still outstanding. The club added that it had respected the proceedings for eight years while expecting the league’s board and executive leadership to act independently, impartially and fairly. It repeated its support for an independent commission to assess evidence the club says backs its case.

Al Mubarak thanked supporters for their continued backing and said the club would not allow outside attempts to weaken its progress. He pointed to upcoming matches at Liverpool and against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League after the international break as occasions for City to demonstrate its unity.
