Kylian Mbappé loses legal challenge against PSG

Kylian Mbappé’s complaint against PSG ended without charges after judges found insufficient evidence in May 2026.

Kylian Mbappé’s legal challenge against Paris Saint-Germain has ended without charges, closing a dispute connected to his final season in Paris and his departure from the club. The outcome leaves his claims of moral harassment and attempted coercion to sign an agreement without judicial backing.

The case followed the 2023-24 campaign, when Mbappé was excluded from the team and entered a separate dispute with PSG over salary payments during the final months of his contract. The France captain and his representatives then pursued legal action against the club, turning a breakdown in their relationship into a formal judicial matter.

Mbappé withdrew his complaint in July 2025, a year after leaving PSG. The investigation nevertheless continued until investigating judges dismissed the case in May 2026, concluding that there were not enough charges to proceed. The decision formally closes the proceedings and gives PSG a favourable outcome in the dispute.

The case had extended the tension surrounding Mbappé’s final months with the Paris club beyond his move away. He had been placed aside during the 2023-24 season before the disagreement over his pay became part of the wider conflict. With the legal process now closed, the complaint has not produced sanctions against PSG.
