Pierre Thierry leaves TotalEnergies for Cofidis

Cofidis has secured the move of French rider Pierre Thierry, who will leave TotalEnergies after a single season and join the team for the next two years. The 23-year-old Breton remains with a French formation as he seeks a larger role and continued development.

Thierry comes to Cofidis with results that underline his potential as a puncheur and rouleur. He finished second at the most recent Tour of Istanbul and took third place at the GP Criquélion this season. His racing profile also includes a willingness to work for team leaders, an attribute that fits Cofidis’ focus on attacking and taking initiative in races.

Born in Sérent, Morbihan, Thierry began his professional career with Arkéa-Samsic, first in its continental structure before moving into the WorldTour team. He joined TotalEnergies last winter after the end of Arkéa-Samsic and now changes teams again after only one year.

At Cofidis, Thierry will reunite with Louis Rouland, his former teammate at the Vuelta in 2025. That race was Thierry’s first Grand Tour, and he finished 39th overall. Cofidis manager Raphaël Jeune views him as a hard-working rider with strong tactical awareness and believes he can become an important member of the team over the next two seasons.
