PSG face uncertainty over Luis Enrique contract renewal

Paris Saint-Germain have yet to formalise Luis Enrique’s expected contract extension, leaving uncertainty around the coach’s place in the club’s long-term project. The delay is notable because the agreement appeared close to completion at the end of last season, when the Spaniard had just guided Paris to the top of Europe and enjoyed strong backing from the club.

The proposed deal was expected to run until 2030, but no announcement has followed several months later. PSG have rejected the idea that negotiations have stalled, while indicating that the extension will be confirmed once the remaining issues are settled. No major disagreement has emerged, and Enrique continues to show full support for the Parisian project.

The lack of movement contrasts with progress on several other contracts. Ousmane Dembélé is expected to sign through 2030, while new agreements for Fabian Ruiz, Lucas Beraldo, Willian Pacho and Senny Mayulu are understood to be complete but not yet announced. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has also become a priority for the club.

That leaves Enrique’s renewal as the only major contract process still surrounded by silence after the transfer window. PSG do not appear to fear an immediate departure, but the longer the confirmation takes, the more questions will arise over a deal previously regarded as nearly finished. Securing the coach who has delivered two successive European titles has become an unresolved issue for the club.
