Saint-Etienne prepare Stassin exit, Bertaccini move

Saint-Etienne could reshape its attack before the transfer window closes in a week, with Lucas Stassin’s situation determining the club’s next moves. The Belgian striker may leave, while Adriano Bertaccini has emerged as the preferred option to fill his place.

Stassin has not started a match since the beginning of the season, despite finishing as Saint-Etienne’s leading scorer in each of the previous two campaigns. The club’s positive results and his limited starting role have increased the possibility of a departure, although he remains highly regarded in the transfer market.

Saint-Etienne had already strengthened its squad during a productive summer window and has reportedly prepared for the possibility of losing Stassin. Bertaccini, also Belgian, is valued for his technical qualities and has recorded nine goals and seven assists in 43 appearances for Anderlecht across all competitions. Anderlecht would require at least €4 million to consider releasing him.

The potential operation would therefore link the club’s outgoing and incoming plans: Stassin’s future must be settled before Saint-Etienne can complete its attacking recruitment. The two players have been identified as the central pieces of the club’s late-window strategy.
