Senny Mayulu’s place in the Paris Saint-Germain squad is not guaranteed by his recent appearances or his status as a promising young player. Luis Enrique left the 20-year-old midfielder out of the group for the trip to Rennes, with the decision linked to his work in training rather than a physical problem.

Mayulu had featured recently against Lens and Aston Villa, but he was neither injured nor ill when the squad was selected.
