Giovani Versini joins Stade Brestois on four-year deal

Stade Brestois have secured Giovani Versini on a four-year contract, giving the Ligue 1 club a long-term addition as it continues the 2026 campaign. The signing comes while Brest occupy sixth place in the early league standings.

Brest have collected one point from their opening match, with a record of one draw, no wins and no defeats. They have scored twice and conceded twice, leaving them level on goals after the first round of fixtures. The result has placed them in the upper half of the table at this stage of the season.

Their recent sequence has been less consistent across all competitions. Brest lost 2-0 to Al Wakrah, drew 2-2 with Concarneau and shared a 1-1 result with Angers before suffering a 2-1 defeat against Strasbourg. They then lost 1-0 away to Paris Saint-Germain. The run includes three defeats and two draws, with no victory in those five matches.

Brest’s next Ligue 1 fixture is away to Le Havre AC on September 5, 2026. Versini’s arrival therefore comes before the club’s next scheduled league test, with Brest looking to build on their opening point while ending the recent run without a win.
